Russia lost in Hockey; Hopes ruined

(USA TODAY Sports Images)

With everyone coming into the Olympics saying that everything else wouldn't matter, as long as the Russian Hockey Team brought home the Gold on Sunday's Game. That feat was just set to shame, as the Russian Hockey Team lost to Finland this morning in the Quarterfinal Game, 3-1. This will be the 3rd straight Olympics that Russia hasn't metaled in their favorite sport. With this loss, an feeling is evanescent upon the Games for all of the Russians, as all of them were banking the Team would've metaled. As the Hosting Country, they've done pretty well in other Sports, carrying them currently in 4th place, but they've been in the hunt since the beginning. The 'so called' favorites now are between the United States and Sweden.

Trial for Boston Bomber set for November

Runners continue to run towards the finish line of the Boston Marathon as an explosion erupts near the finish line of the race in this photo exclusively licensed to Reuters by photographer Dan Lampariello after he took the photo in Boston, Massachusetts, April 15, 2013. REUTERS/Dan Lampariello

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon Bomber, had his trial set for November. Tsarnaev, 20, from Russia, is blamed for the largest casualty attack within the United States since 9/11. During the Bombing, he and his brother killed 3 people and injuring over 260, then later killing a University Policeman trying to pursue him. Using Homemade Pressure-Cooker Bombs, United States prosecutors are requesting the Death Penalty, being that Tsarnaev moved to the U.S. over a decade ago. Defense Attorneys are trying to get Tsarnaev as much time as possible for the Trial; reviewing a ton of evidence that the FBI had collected prior and after the Bombing. Judge George O'Toole will cover the Trial.

Seattle destroys Denver

In what everyone was saying was probably one of the most boring Superbowl's yet, the Seattle Seahawks dominated the whole game against the Broncos and finished with a score of 43-8. This was the first crown brought to Seattle in a record fashion; dominating the game with 59 minutes with the ball. Quarterback Russel Wilson is the 3rd youngest ever to win the Superbowl, and even the Seahawks are a young team, with an average age of 26 years old. Linebacker Malcolm Smith for the Seahawks won the MVP Award, the first defensive player to win the award in 11 years. Questions are being raised about Denver Quarterback, Manning. After a stellar year and multiple broken records, he still can't pull it together in the playoffs with a record of 11-12.
